Shared Bicycle System Breaks Record of Use in Fortaleza

The mark of 1,842 trips was reached last Sunday (03/22), with the edition of Ciclofaixa de Leisure, even with the rain that bathed the Capital.
The System of Shared Bicycles of the Municipality of Fortaleza hit a new record of use, last Sunday (03/22), with the edition of Ciclofaixa of Leisure, even with the rain that bathed the Capital. In total, 1,842 trips were made with the system bicycles. The technicians of the Secretariat of Conservation and Public Services (SCSP) consider a very expressive number, since on Sundays the system registered, on average, 1,400 trips. On business days, the average daily usage of the system is 1,100 trips.
Today, the City Hall of Fortaleza already has 35 shared bicycle stations scattered throughout the city. Last weekend, stations were installed in the neighborhoods Benfica, Farias Brito and Monte Castelo. By the end of this month, five new stations will be delivered, totaling the 40 planned for the first phase of the project.
Bicycling – Shared Bicycle System of Fortaleza – was implemented by the City of Fortaleza in December 2014, as an activity of the Immediate Transport and Traffic Action Plan. The goal for the coming months is to further expand the system by installing new stations.
Sharing stations work every day from 5:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. Trips of up to 60 minutes are free for those who have the Single Ticket, as long as they are held at least 15 minutes apart. On Sundays, municipal, state and federal holidays, the user can make as many trips as he wants for up to 90 minutes, provided that they are done with interval of at least 15 minutes between them.
Register
To use the system, interested parties must register through the website out site. During the registration, the user will choose a membership plan with daily rate (R $ 5), monthly (R $ 10) or annual (R $ 60) informing the credit card where the amount of the chosen plan will be charged. The Single Ticket (BU) user can use the system for free.
Charging will give you unlimited hourly use. On Sundays and holidays, the usage time will be extended to one and a half hours. If this time is exceeded, an additional fee of R $ 5 per hour will be charged. However, if the person wishes to continue using the means of transportation and does not want to pay the additional, you will have the option to wait 15 minutes between the use and the next withdrawal. The service works every day, from 5 to 11:59 p.m. for the removal of equipment and 24 hours for return.
