Facebook Announces News Feed with New Look

Mark Zuckerberg called the press to announce the new news feed Facebook. At an event held on Thursday (7), at the company headquarters, the CEO highlighted the main points of the new layout: feed based on multiple subjects and consistent design across desktops, smartphones and tablets. The purpose of the change is to provide a “personalized newspaper” for each user.

The new feed Facebook News displays photos in larger sizes, which favors other content besides text, such as images shared by Pinterest. Videos and maps also gained prominence. Furthermore, when several friends sharing the same post, the photos of each will appear in a sidebar next to the article. On page in Portuguese, Facebook announced the change this way: “Goodbye clutter! Hello clear and compelling stories.”

You will have access to new feeds, both on the web and on smartphones and tablets. In feed “All friends” only posts posted by your friends will be displayed, deleted content content published pages or artists. In “Followers”, you can see the news of the pages that you enjoy and people you follow. Finally, there is the feed “Photos”, which displays images only; and “Music”, with publications about the songs you hear.

The social network will release updated versions of applications for iPhone and iPad in the coming weeks. The application for Android will be updated in the future.
