The Mobile World Congress 2016 in Barcelona has now officially begun. In this context, Hewlett-Packard introduces the new HP Elite X3. This high-end device is designed for the business area and runs on Windows Mobile 10.
This Can Be The Elite X3
The first smartphone running Windows Mobile 10 is a real smartphone monster. HP has combined laptop, desktop PC and Phablet with this device. If Phablet is not a term, the German word neo-creation refers to a mixture of smartphone and tablet computer. This includes the Mobile Extender-a docking station – and an optional Desk Dock. Especially cool: The Extender comes in laptop format.
If you like compact phones, the HP Elite X3 is rather suboptimal. The smartphone has a 5.9 inch screen, which you have to get used to. Behind it is a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels, which can be expected from the flagship however also. In addition, HP has installed a stereo sound system with multimedia capabilities in the Phablet. Gambling may not be necessary for entrepreneurs at first sight, but it has its charm. The Elite X3 works with the Snapdragon 820-one of the most powerful processors currently available. In addition, the smartphone comes with a fingerprint scanner, which is required to unlock Windows Mobile 10. But not only that: the device can also offer with an iris scanner and has a battery with 4.150 mAh. The XXL battery is not from bad parents, considering that the freshly introduced Galaxy S7 Edge comes to 3,600 mAh. Otherwise the Elite X3 brings a 4 GB memory and an 8-megapixel front camera with.
The Continuum function of Windows 10 brings some advantages. This ensures easy switching between screens. It allows you to use the device as a laptop, desktop or mobile smartphone. The Mobile Extender evaluates the device to a notebook with 12.5 inch and full HD. Here, the X3 serves, so to speak, as the heart of the Mini-PC. The large battery can be recharged via Quick-Charge especially fast and not only wired, but also wireless.
Data communication can take place via WLAN, Bluetooth, NFC or LTW Cat6. Otherwise, it is worth mentioning that the new HP flagship is water-resistant and shock-resistant. The display cover is from Gorilla Glass 4 and certified to IP67. This means that the unit will also dive up to one meter as long as it does not spend more than half an hour under water. According to the manufacturer, it should be able to withstand falls from a height of up to 1.2 meters without damage.
Price And Release Of The Flagship
So far, HP has not let itself seep, than the Elite X3 is likely to come in the summer of 2016 on the market. An exact date, however, has not yet been fixed-just as little as the price. However, we can expect with the equipment probably, that it will not be quite cheap. We can be curious about what specials HP will surprise us.
