USB Hub 3.0 Reviews

New test today dedicated to a USB 3.0 Hub, equipped with an SD card reader. This Hub is a product from Inateck company which I mentioned in a previous test . This USB Hub has many advantages, which is why I decided to test it. Let us therefore quickly in the thick of it.

Characteristics

  • 3 USB 3.0 ports
  • OTG function
  • 1 SD card reader
  • Dimensions: 100 x 30 x 20mm
  • Color: black and gray

Box Contents

Packaging is satisfactory. A black design, rather plain, which had its effect. And inside of this box, all is well cushioned and protected. This is reassuring on the care product, and above all it is practical for easy storage of the Hub in the box, if needed.

On the content side, the box HB4008 contains the USB 3.0 Hub, a manual and a MicroSD adapter => SD to put a MicroSD card type in the Hub SD card reader. I did not expect to find such an adapter so I say ” well played Inateck ” for having thought.

For indeed, the HB4008 has, in addition to its three USB 3.0 ports and a SD card reader. A pretty cool feature, which turns out to be a little more compared to the amount of Hub that you can find on the market. This card reader is placed at the end of the Hub.

A bit wider than the USB, its size is reduced, so it will be forgotten on a desk.

Operation

In terms of operation, the hub is fairly traditional: just plug in and use! In use, the rates are really worthy of the USB 3.0 standard: no loss of speed. The Hub does not need a driver, it is recognized directly, either in Windows (8.1) or Linux (Ubuntu 14.04). In use, it is possible to copy between two keys simultaneously connected to the hub, and copying pictures from an SD card on the PC. Transfer speeds are quite satisfactory.

The USB OTG is part of the

You may have heard of or OTG USB OTG. This is a standard that allows devices to communicate with each other without having to go through a PC. Well, the Hub of HB4008 Inateck embarks OTG technology. It is possible to connect the hub to a smartphone or tablet, and via its MicroUSB connector. The only problem with the OTG is that it does not always work well in practice. But this is not the fault of the Hub. Indeed, on a 7-inch tablet input range, TBBSensei could test the hub. However, he encountered a small problem: the tablet did not see a single removable storage when plugged two keys.

I have personally tested the Hub with my Galaxy Tab 2 7 inches. In connection with the Hub 3 USB keys, my tablet I announced that a high-power USB device was plugged in and that it is impossible to access … FAIL. So I started with a single key on the Hub, but the result is the same. Yet it works when I connect a single key, without the Hub. But hey, it amazes me only half as Roma Official Samsung (Android 4.1.1 rootée) is not great … Anyway, so I tested it with my smartphone: a Galaxy S4. The latter, running Android 4.4.4 (Cyanogenmod) then allowed me to realize my tests successfully: connecting a keyboard, mouse, multiple USB keys … Everything worked without exception.

Price

And if we addressed the things that annoy? The price ! Well no, here it is not something that upset. It is possible to find the Hub of HB4008 Inateck for the price of 20 € on the Amazon site. A reasonable price, which is in the average of USB 3.0 Hubs.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I would say the HB4008 is a USB 3.0 Hub cared who easily found favor in your eyes if you need a USB 3.0 Hub.And if that is the case, then go ahead and click the link below to order yours.
