The ergonomics are good not excessive given the size and light weight. The shell is made of aluminum with two plastic inserts on top and bottom.
On the bottom there is a microUSB port, 3.5 mm audio jack and the main microphone. The buttons for volume and power/lock button are positioned on an insert slightly protruding on the back along with the 13 megapixel camera with LED flash. At the back we find the speaker.Volume control buttons also allow quick access to Quick Memo + and camera.
The display is a IPS “in-cell” from 5-inch HD good quality and glass 3 Gorilla Glass protecting it is slightly rounded on the edges. Good visibility and high viewing angle. The colors are very saturated and there is a slight tendency to the clearing when we tilt the device, especially black.
Unlike other LG devices in this price range, LG Zero integrates a light sensor that works quite well although it tends to keep the display a bit dark. LG software customization allows you to take advantage of the double tap or the Knock Code to turn on and off the screen and allows you to edit the navigation bar with additional keys.
Drums, Audio and reception:
Good durability of battery, a 2,050 mAh which covers an eventful without any particular problem. Also a simple energy saving system that limits the brightness of the display and the background task in certain applications.
LG Zero offers good reception is under 4 g and 3 g coverage that has a fairly good sound quality via earbud though there is a ton of distortion at full volume. The speaker, during a voice call, croaks and the volume is not particularly high. Nothing to report regarding the Wi-Fi connectivity and GPS reception.
LG Zero is based on Android in version 5.1.1 Lollipop. The interface is customized by LG and offers a wide customization possibilities while remaining smooth and pleasant to use. The settings menu is divided into four tabs. In the list of notifications we slide to adjust brightness and volume as well as a range of customizable shortcuts.
The homescreen icons are customizable and also the apps drawer allows you to sort alphabetically, download applications or personal. Can also hide certain applications and display large icons.
There’s no shortage of Quick Memo feature QSlide and +. Qslide reduces in floating Windows many applications while with Quick Memo + can take quick notes Freehand.
The default keyboard is customized by LG and is very fast and precise, writes with swipe, choosing a theme, height adjustment and quick links.
As browsers are only Chrome offering a good upload speed and rendering of pages and a decidedly smooth navigation and responsive when interacting with pinch and double tap. Not missing the opportunity of viewing pages in desktop format.
Camera and Multimedia:
LG has greatly simplified the user interface of the camera that doesn’t offer a wide range of setting. For photos, we can choose the format 16:9, 4:3 or 1:1, panoramic photo, self-timer, HDR and click to “cheese”. The focus is quite rapid, not just as the shutter speed. The front camera is 8 Megapixels and has an aperture F/2.0. Can adjust the level of beauty and take pictures with a gesture of his hand.
Good quality of pictures taken with the camera back from 13 megapixel camera featuring a good detail preservation in optimal lighting condition, a good exposure adjustment and a careful balance of white and colors. In low light condition there is a slight noise. Very nice macros, and good, overall, the quality of the front camera.
Decent video quality that can have a maximum resolution Full HD. There are no special scattosità, good audio capture and digital zoom that does not distort the image.
The music player is customized by LG, allowing you to display songs by album, artist, genre and playlist management. Video player plays all file types except 4 k video and AC3 audio track. Also the FM radio. The volume of the speaker system quite low but the quality definitely better than voice calls.
No problem with gaming. Load times are quick enough for both Asphalt 8, which does not give you a very high framerate, either for Real Racing that has an excellent fluidity even if it does not show maximum detail graphics.
LG Zero is available in both Gold and Silver suggested retail price of 299 euros. The price is quite high considering the hardware and compared to what is offered by competitors in this price range. Online, however, you can already find about 200 euros in Europe version and at this price is much cheaper considering the quality of the materials used, the good overall performance and good photographic sector.
